Celebrate Holi Festival with great passion and enthusiasm

It is time yet again to get yourself bathed and wet your dear ones in a multitude of colors. Yes, the Hindu festival of colors - holi, is coming once more. Also known as Vasant Utsav, This festival marks the beginning of spring in India. It has observed since ancient times, it is one of the most popular Hindu festivals. With growing movement of Indians into other nations, this festival is now observed with as much display in India as in places abroad wherever there is the occurrence of a Hindu community. Holi in India is a celebration of fun and play and has been associated with the endless love of Krishna and Radha. The enthusiasm and the entertainment of the season are amazing.

Hindu New Year has celebrated according to the Hindu lunar calendar called Panchanga. According to Indian calendar, seasons follow the sun, months follow the moon and days both sun and moon. The Hindu New Year starts with the first day of Kartik Maas following Diwali Amaavasya. The days are normally hot and oppressive in the month of Chithirai. When a huge number of people gather at a particular place in hot weather, something must be done to respond to it. Thus, occurrences of the tradition of presenting people with cool drinks and fans.
Ramnavami has dedicated to the reminiscence of Lord Rama, the son of king Dashrath. He is also known as Maryada Purusottama and is the symbol of uprightness. The celebration observes the birth of Rama on the ninth day after the new moon in Sukul Paksh, which falls sometime in the month of April. In 2011, the festival will fall on 12th April. In various parts of India, particularly Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, public gatherings called Satsangs are organized to remember the birth of Rama. The pilgrims gather the temples of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, where Lord Rama was born and Pondicherry to contribute in Ramnavami festivities.

Good Friday generally known as Holy Friday, Great Friday is the Friday falls before Easter Sunday. It honors the crucifixion of Lord Jesus Christ and his death on the cross. Since the early church, Good Friday has been celebrated by fasting, reparation and prayer. For several years the day had not linked with the death of Jesus Christ but was mainly another day of fasting. The Hanuman Jayanti has celebrated to remember the birth of Lord Hanuman, the monkey god broadly respected throughout India. It has celebrated during Chaitra – the Hindu month and is especially important to Brahmacharis, wrestlers and bodybuilders.
